The Erechtheion is an ancient Greek temple located on the north side of the Acropolis in Athens. It was built between 421 and 406 BC, during the reign of Pericles, to replace an earlier temple destroyed by the Persians.
The temple was dedicated to both Athena Polias and Poseidon-Erechtheus, two important deities in Athenian mythology.
